The World After

The World After was once as it is now: cars, phones, jobs, advertising, nations, economies, products, mortgages, weddings, funerals… Then everything changed. Hard to pin down exactly when the World Before turned into the World After, but step by step the world became something worse.

The Internet became more ubiquitous as augmented reality became indispensable. Cities grew upwards and outwards like a cancer, devouring the land. We mastered the ability to augment the human body, replacing flesh and bone with chrome and durable glass. Corporations became powerful entities, nations in their own right. Magic poured into the world and the neon glow of a promised future became the second sight of the mystically inclined. We began to change as new visions of humanity itself expressed itself through our children.

World After is an upcoming setting guide for Green Ronin Publishing’s Modern AGE RPG system that expands the modern / near-future rules to accommodate additional cyberpunk and urban fantasy concepts.


Modern AGE Resources

One of the most daunting things about playing in an unfamiliar RPG system is getting lost in the tangle of nuanced particulars. The Modern AGE system is very accessible for players with its straight-forward 3d6 based gameplay, but even it can get confusing when it comes time to setting up characters and keeping track of ability focuses and talents as they level up.

Fortunately, Good Snek Games has produced a Modern AGE Character Advancement Worksheet for Microsoft Excel to help with this! The worksheet is not a replacement for the Green Ronin character sheets but a useful supplement that will help players remember what attributes were advanced at different stages in a character’s lifecycle.

The World After guide is currently First Draft Complete. Work on the second draft is underway.
